AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from the year 2018 to 2020. [8][9The 8-year-old Morgan was chosen by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley earlier. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. The team made her debut in professional football and helped the team win the league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time and was the youngest player on the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. The 2012 season ended with 21 and 28 goals. assists along with Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and give 20 assists in the same calendar year , making her the sixth and the youngest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year Morgan was also an FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan has also played a role in helping the United States win their titles at the 2015 and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups, where she was named to the Dream Team for both tournaments and also won the Silver Boot in 2019.
