
Alexandra Rose Raisman, born May 25 1994 she is an American retired artistic gymnast. She is also twice an Olympian. She was the captain of both the 2012 "Fierce Five" and the 2016 "Final Five" U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics teams. Both were winners in their respective teams competitions.At the 2012 Olympics in London she was awarded gold medals for the team and floor competitions, and also the bronze medal for the balance beam, making her the most decorated American gymnast at the Games. She took home a team gold medal at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Gabby Douglas and Raisman are the only Americans to have back-to-back gold medals in this event. Raisman also won silver medals in the individual all-around and floor exercise. She is the third most accomplished American gymnast in Olympic history, behind Shannon Miller and Simone Biles who have won six Olympic medals.Raisman was also part of the gold-winning American teams at the 2011 and 2015 World Championships, and the bronze medalist in the world championships on floor exercise in 2011. She was also two-time national champion in floor exercises (2012 and 2015) as well as the national champion in balance beam in the year 2012. She was also five times medalist in the national championships for all-around (silver, bronze, 2010 2011, 2012 and 2015). She was inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame (2013).
